Nixim brake mod install

Upvote 0. Theo van den Brink tyzje Premium. I just ordered one lol.. I have to wait till wednesday then my adapter for the g27 pedals icw the trs so i am also in the middle of upgrading things and also on budget for euro i am happy tips for setting this up are welcome! I've used the Nixim mod with all three springs for years. Definitely worthwhile, but you must hard mount the pedals.

When you have the pedals apart to install, it's a good time to blow dust out of the pots. Recalibrate the brake pedal. You'll have full resolution that way rather than having a dead zone. Can also recommend the Leo Bodnar adapter to increase resolution. Edit: if you want to be cheap, just cut up a pink eraser block to fit in the brake pedal cylinder. You'll have to trim to length to suit your preferences and that will mean a couple disassembly-reassembly cycles.

Have you looked at the GTEye set? I used one for years and even liked it better than the Nixim. PicoBp beat me to the punch, was gonna say that from all accounts I've heard GTEye is the way to go for Logitech pedals.

Jeremy Ford Premium. I used the Nixim brake mod way back no longer have the pedals. Can't see the point in the clutch and gas pedal mods, just go with the brake. The difference is an instant improvement so as cheap mods go, definitely worth it. As said before, you will need to hard mount or at least have the pedals propped against the wall, the pressure needed on the brake is like a load cell braking weight to brake fully.

It's quite substantial, but you can trim the rubber block a little to make it easier. Thanks for all the responses guys, much appreciated! I did look at both Nixim and GTEye before posting here. The reason I'm leaning towards the Nixim is simple I'm an impatient sod and delivery of the Nixim will be far quicker since they're based in my country. So I've decided to go with the Nixim brake mod on it's own. Thinking about it today, I couldn't really think of a good reason to make the clutch and throttle harder I like that the throttle only requires a feather touch, and the only thing I ever do with the clutch is mash it to the floor anyway when I change gear, so no 'feel' or precision required!

Having that thinking confirmed by Jeremy clinched it. Better res on the pedals, and the ability to use them separately Thanks again guys. Echo on the Bodnar cable. Being able to run the pedals alone is awesome and having more resolution is just a bonus. Its never missed a beat in all the years I've used it. It seems I shouldn't have let impatience make my decision on which mod to order. It's been over a week and my Nixim mod hasn't arrived and they've ignored two emails so far. Seriously unimpressed.

I could have had a GTEye mod all the way from Australia by now, since they ship internationally within days. Live and learn. Are you kidding? Man i have the same experience with them at the moment! I only ordered the brakespring and that was on 18th of april.. I am going to give them a call tomorrow Theo van den Brink said:. Click to expand Piotr Dul Sunday Driver. I'm using all three. I love the brake spring, braking with it is much more intuitive, it is a huge step up from the standard spring.

The accelerator spring is better too, harder but it gives me better modulation then standard. The only one i don't like is a clutch spring, i don't see much of a difference over factory spring. Well, it seems the threat of a PayPal claim finally got them moving. I gave them 48 hours, and 40 hours later the brake mod arrived. I can see from the postage that it was posted the day I sent the message via the PayPal resolution centre.

But I still have not had any communication from them whatsoever Glad to have my mod at last, but I'll still be taking my business elsewhere if I feel the need to upgrade the other pedals. Piotr Dul said:. I also left a message through paypal to nixim with the message to withdraw the order and give my money back Oh yes I am sure about that..

I joined this site and am bumping this thread a bit to also note that I am having issues with Nixim. Then you need to calibrate this. You will now find that your pots potentiometers are nowhere near as accurate as your logitech drivers made you think they were.

You might have to adjust the calibration to suit your pots, i. I had can't remember atm for the full pedal travel on brake and accelerator, but my clutch was full, I guess from use How much does it cost? I would recommend this above the nixim brake mod as this will instantly make you faster without changing your driving style too much. Aye mate, looks like it is down atm I did this review for my teammates when I bought it, and just copied it here for you guys, so a pretty honest review.

I have had the Nixim brake mod for a while now and like the feel too. But ,the end of the rubber block is being cut in to by the inside of the red shroud. Spoke to Nixim ,who also had the same problem ,but said it wouldn't get any worse I was interested in Leo's box, was waiting for a review because to me it sounded dodgy - seems if I do ever get into sim-racing again i'll need to pick one up Quote from Jakg : I was interested in Leo's box, was waiting for a review because to me it sounded dodgy - seems if I do ever get into sim-racing again i'll need to pick one up I got one of these Jakg, Plugged it in and calibrated it very easily, anyway I can say that it makes the G25 pedals noticably smoother, building up the accelaration out of a corner seems much nicer and easier to control, transition between braking and throttle seems smoother, as well as the braking itself being more consistent.

It's not going to make you become a Gregor Huttu or Bawbag though unfortunately I may try the Nixim pedal mod Well it was and still is an effing disaster Quote from AlienT.

However I'm not quite sure that I've installed it correctly.. I read somewhere that the travel distance of the brake should be halved, but in my case it's not. My deadzone is much smaller than that. I also can't really fully depress the pedal, even if I apply full force.

Which isn't exactly ideal.. Did I do something wrong? I'd never heard of Leo's mod before, and frankly I'm a little sceptical. How can increasing the resolution in any way help..? I've never considered the pedals to be particularly unsmooth.

Could someone say a little more about how they make a difference in actual gameplay? But I might pick up the thingy. I will give this a try, much cheaper than a set of uber pedals. Leos pedal thingy makes subtle but noticable difference Gnomie I would liken the effects of the mod to taking a valium if you were having a fit of the DT's. I like the comparison! I will have to give this some thought.. As I said I've never really noticed a problem with the brake "resolution" as it is now.

But that doesn't mean I wouldn't notice a difference with Leo's mod. By the way, installing this would mean I would be using all my six USB ports.. Well the Nixim piece of rubber has arrived and easily installed. I have so far only tried it with iracing where anyone with a G25 knows the issues with breaking.

At first not sure what to think of it really, somehow I have managed to take. I have taken the castors of my chair and have booked myself in for sessions at the gym with a specialist 'one legged trainer' so I can build up my breaking leg to a suitable level of strength. I'm thinking Roberto Carlos would have trouble pushing the break pedal to the floor now.

Anyway with a bit of playing around with the break pedal calibration and the hire of a hydraulic ram, HPU and the necessary fittings to assist with breaking I seem to have it sorted only kidding about the hydraulic ram. This takes some getting used to, the pressure needed to push the pedal to the floor is probably too much unless you have very well secured pedals and seat to meh I need a sim cockpit It is easier, after much practise and fiddling with calibration, to know when you are reaching threshold breaking.

Trail breaking I am finding more difficult at the moment. You could easily make this mod yourself, a piece of high density rubber cut to fit inside the brake pedal spring. I'm sure you could cut a piece from a 'bouncy ball' for instance, I would say it is approximately 15x12x50mm, but unfortunately that is a guess as I forgot to measure mine before I fitted it sorry.

The Nixim website has good fitting guide with pictures. For the price of a packet of ciggies including postage it's not too bad, but I suppose that is relative, I would rather be racing than buggering around in toy shops looking for a piece of rubber then ending up in hospital because i've sliced my fingers off with a stanley knife while attempting to mould said rubber.

Anyone have one of those adapters for the pedal unit for a review?
