All files will start the import process. Files of a new name will import. If the SHP file name is over 64 characters, and error box will display and the name will need to be shortened. This name field is not crtical, so randomly delete charaters out of th name.
Once loaded you can change the colors, line thickness and other items by double clicking exactly on the small icon at the front of the new table listing. Scroll down in the Label Column , and double click Label. Here is one method that works on all versions of Windows:. Let this dialogue box sit in a visible place for a moment. Drag this over to the previously opened Startup Folder and drop it inside to create a shortcut.
Two project files will cause failure to load. Both will load. GPX files one-by-one about the same way. This may not be easy, so ask someone on your fire "where to download fire maps". They may lead you to the. GPX files. Cannot enter or manipulate multiple routes which the help files claim as a feature and works in the version. Pros: It is made by people that actually make maps! The new perspective is a nice touch while driving.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed. Cons: Ok, the new view is a little taxing on older laptops, I haven't tried tuning anything yet though. Overall Review: I have been using this program since version 1. The version that sucked came out in 98 or 99 when they had the roadwarrior edition. Pros: It does track your location using bluetooth GPS on pocket pc, assuming you've uploaded maps.
Cons: a complete waste of time. A few reasons why: 1 Maps need to be "converted" from laptop to handheld; take minutes per map; you need to select what part of the map you want to convert; just selecting two grids only part of AZ yield an 11 meg file to be transferred to Pocket PC 2 Locating address search takes minutes on Pocket PC; once you do this, it takes several minutes to search for the route; even a simple route just a few miles away!
And forget about selecting address from contacts; it takes minutes just for it to open your contacts, and then it doesn't show which contacts have addresses, versus just phone numbers, etc.
Then more minutes for a route, which I could not get to display on the device. It's really useless for a handheld; I tried to return it but BB would only let me exchange it for the same software, which I did anyway. But I make an issue of letting BB know I feel ripped off and I requested that their buyers do research on what they sell; sure wish I did before I bought this useless software.
The draw feature allows you to input new streets. Overall functionality on the device makes it pretty much useless. When navigating, the map doesn't show enough detail, no matter what zoom level, to see exactly which streets to turn on and the voice directions rarely say anything.
And when it does it's volume is low and not even useful information. Boy was I wrong! Since I already registered the software I cannot return it to the vendor, so I'll have to install it on my laptop and learn to use it that way.
I will not be able to use it for Geocaching as planned either. I guess you get what you pay for since I've found other mobile software designed specifically to use your Pocket PC as a replacement for a GPS navigator for much more money.
Trying to do so in route is too painful. This product is not useful for someone who just wants to do GPS navigation and routing. Spend your money on dedicated GPS navigational device instead.
Orient the ruler east-west. Place zero end on the southern latitude grid line. Orient the ruler north-south. Keep the ruler parallel to the latitude grid lines. Use the latitude scale and a pencil to make small marks on both sides of the grid at the latitude you are plotting. Use a longitude scale for a location closer to the equator. You will need to use it at an angle, so that the zero end and the marking for the grid spacing are on the edged of the grid.
Using the ruler at an angle like this essentuall "shrinks" it to fit in the grid. Connecting the two latitude markes with a line will make it easier to figure out where the plotted longitude lies along the line representing the plotted latitude.
Slide the ruler up and down, until the desired longitude mark is on the latitude line you marked.
